In the heart of downtown Toronto, you can find Canada’s largest indoor aquarium. This 35,000 sq ft aquarium features13,500 exotic sea and freshwater creatures, comprising over 450 species, a 315 ft moving walkway below a 750,000-gallon shark lagoon, and a main exhibition that includes a tropical reef tank, along with Great Lakes exhibits and Atlantic and Pacific habitats.

The High Park zoo is really great for families. No need to walk for hours from one animal to another and there are plenty of other activities in the park where you and your family can engage in.  The zoo is open all year long from 7 am till dusk. There are 6 or 7 enclosed areas on either side of Deer Pen road where the animals of the zoo live. You can find bison, deer, llamas, peacocks, highland cattle, etc. in the zoo.There is no admission fee to enter the zoo area.

The zoo has been raising, breeding, showing & selling exotic & unusual critters since the early 1990s. There are over 50 species at the zoo ranging from mammals to birds and reptiles.     My son absolutely loves the african Lion Safari. So nice to see the Peterborough Zoo included. The playground area is huge!! And the splash pad so much fun. And it’s all free!! Definitely worth the drive to Peterborough!
