River Lights Winter Festival – Step back in time to a perfect holiday setting!

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – Come Downtown to enjoy the 38th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Memorial Square on Saturday November 16th, 2013. The following activities will be taking place to bring in the festive season: Visit from Santa, Tree Lighting and Fireworks, Choir Singing, Wagon Rides, Pony Rides and Face Painting, Festive Holiday Film, Free Hot Chocolate with a non-perishable donation , Old Tyme Kettle Korn and Captain Cooke De Fries
Start the season off with this long standing annual ceremony in Downtown Barrie.


Festival of Trees – Step back in time as the historic Village is lit up with an array of sparkling trees, wreaths and a host of festive decorations.  Festival attractions include: Christmas Boutique, Christmas Cafe, Craft Fair, Children’s Workshop, Santa’s Secret Shoppe, and the Memorial Tree.  Join in an array of special events!


23rd Christmas at Presqu’ile Juried Arts and Crafts Show – Fine arts and crafts on sale at the Nature Centre (open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm) and at the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre (open until 5:00 pm). Visit the tea room at Stonehedge and enjoy our famous rum cake and hot drinks.


Olde Fashioned Christmas @ Ireland House (Sunday 11:00-4:00) – Celebrate the season with memories of Christmas long ago. It’s a day away from the hustle and bustle. Enjoy the smells, sounds and tastes of Christmas on a historic farm. See baking demonstrations, tour the Ireland House decked out for the holidays, make crafts, visit with the Clauses in SANTA’S CABIN and so much more.

Holiday Traditions @ Royal Botanical Gardens –  Celebrate winter at RBG with Holiday Traditions, RBG’s annual holiday season event featuring Canada’s best all-botanical model train installation. You’ll find Canadian highlights in RBG Centre and a new train in our Mediterranean Garden featuring Wonders of the World. Weekends are filled with seasonal activities, musical entertainment, local school and adult choirs, light and model train displays, and a traditional Santa. Runs until January 5th 2014

Santa Arrives By Helicopter at Burlington Mall – Santa will arrive by helicopter at Burlington Mall on Saturday, November 16 at 10 a.m., touching down in the south parking lot along Prospect St. There will be free hot chocolate and gifts for the first 1,200 children as well as live entertainment in the parking lot and a lively parade through the mall to Santa’s cabin, led by the Tartan Terrors. Once settled in to his cabin Santa will be available for photos until 6 p.m. that day.


The Christmas Show – The Christmas Show is sure to inspire the Christmas Spirit in everyone! Join us for great gift ideas – whether you are looking for her, for him, or for some unique hostess and stocking stuffer gifts, check out all the exhibitors for some fun ideas! Bring a pair of new mittens to donate and you get 50% admission.  Be sure to visit Santa while you’re there


Festival of Lights – This is one of the more popular events in Kapuskasing. It kicks off mid-November and continues until mid-January. The festival consists of several winter activities including the lighting of thousands of Christmas lights in the Riverside Park.


Fantasy of Lights – November 15th – January 7th -The 22nd Annual Kingsville Fantasy of Lights Festival has an outstanding line up of entertainment for the whole family. Don’t miss Dinner With Santa, Opening Ceremonies with Fireworks at lakeside Park, Ice Wine and Art at the Park, The Santa Claus Parade, Special Senior’s Day, Train Rides around the Park, and of course over 200 lighted displays that bring lakeside park to life.

Parade of Lights @ Country Heritage Park (Saturday and Sunday at 6:00pm) – Come and enjoy this spectacular parade of antique tractors and farm implements decorated with coloured lights. After the parade join Santa and Mrs. Klaus in the Gambrel barn for some hot chocolate and cookies. (bring your camera). This event is FREE

Minden Hills

Tree Lighting Ceremony Sat Nov 15, 2014 from 4 – 5 pm. Join us for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Village Green on Main Street. Come out and help us decorate the township tree for the holiday season. Caroling is being provided by “Out Loud Womyn’s Voices”. There will also be free hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast over the fire! This years’ theme for the tree is “Nature Friendly”  so only natural, biodegradable ornaments for the tree please.

Niagara Falls

Winter Festival of Lights – Enjoy the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights, Canada’s foremost illumination festival in its most famous address – Niagara Falls – as we capture the magic of the holiday season from November 15, 2014 to January 12, 2015.


Oakville Tree Lighting – (November 14th) Celebrate the lights, the magic, and the charm of Downtown Oakville this Christmas as the businesses kick-off the holiday season with the official lighting of the Towne Square Tree. Santa and his elves will be treating everyone to hot apple cider and holiday cheer. A special part of this evening is the annual downtown Christmas carol sing-along with Oakville’s Mayor and the Salvation Army Band. The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. in Towne Square,


Ottawa Christmas Craft & Good Show @ Tudor Hall – CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA! November 16th. A christmas celebration of over 60 vendors featuring local artists, artisans and craftspeople presenting a wonderful array of handmade work and qauality gifts. Come on out and support our local artisans and small businesses.

Signatures Show @ Ottawa Convention Centre – 180 of Canada’s best artists, artisans and designers! Experience an urban shopping event like no other. Festival of Northern Lights – No grinch can resist the magic of the lights as they gradually illuminate the Sydenham River  from the Sound to the downtown city core on opening night!  Join thousands as we enter The Gateway to the Holiday Season together on Friday November 14th.
