Apple picking season is starting in Ontario!  Find and orchard near you where you can pick your own to make yummy pies, crisps and candy apples

Drive-ins in Ontario

There are some great family movies in theatres right now so why not take the family for a night out at a local drive-in?!   You can also check out what’s playing onSaturday morning at Cineplex theatres for their Family Favourites.  At 11:00am you can watch a movie for only $2.99!


Ontario Farmer’s Markets are still going strong and are bringing you the best and freshest produce around.  Support the Farmers of Ontario by shopping at your local farmer’s market this weekend!


Barrie Fair – It’s that time of year again! This year the Barrie fair will be filled with many things to see and do, including a variety of livestock & home craft shows, vendors, truck & tractor pulls, demolition derbies, live entertainment, and the ever-popular midway. Not to mention over $100,000 in prize money! The Barrie Fair has always aimed to bring together families from across Ontario, and this year is no exception!

Blue Mountain 

Funkengruven – Get ready for some FUNK as we shake up the Village during this high energy, musical weekend with head-liner Andria Simone! Featuring interactive drumming, groove dancing and hula hooping!


BARK in the park – BARK in the PARK Bowmanville is a family friendly event where family dogs are the focus. Celebrate our four-legged companions with two days of contests, demos, races, agility course, swag bags, splash pools, interactive games, photo ops, food, toys, giveaways, shopping, and more.


BikeFest – For motorcycle riders, the day begins with the escorted Ride for Big Brothers Big Sisters leaving from Erieau at 9am. It ends in Tecumseh Park where the festivities begin. BikeFest includes a Motorcycle Showcase and a Bike Build Competition. It also features vendors in the park, bands, a beer garden and much more. We are grateful for the support of our SPONSORS who make it possible for this event to be FREE to the general public. You’re not going to want to miss it!


Ribfest – Rain or shine this event provides delicious ribs, first class musical entertainment, a kids area and specialized children’s entertainment, classic cars, a bavarian tent, marketplace and of course delicious, mouth watering RIBS!


Harvest Celebration Days @ Lang Pioneer Village – Come celebrate the harvest season at Lang Pioneer Village Museum! Learn about the importance of the harvest season and discover the foods, tools, equipment and more used by the early settlers as they celebrated and reaped the harvest and prepared for winter in the country.


Blues Festival – The Limestone City Blues Festival will once again bring Downtown Kingston alive with the sounds of the blues August 27, 28, 29 & 30, 2015

Niagara Falls

Fireworks over the Falls – Canada’s longest-running fireworks series is underway with fireworks every Friday, Sunday, and holiday until September 1, preceded by the popular Coca Cola Concert Series on the Victoria Park Stage. The best views are in Queen Victoria Park overlooking Niagara Falls.

Busker Festival – Second Annual Niagara Falls Buskerfest This is a free, all ages, community event showcasing more than 50 performances from world class performers from around the globe, artisan and food vendors and much, much more, in support of arts programming for children and youth.


Capital Fair – The Fair offers a Friday night and Saturday Western Horse Barrel Race competition and a full Gymkhana Western style show on our final Sunday.   The Urbandale Corporation Kids Zone features a Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, our Bird of Prey show, the Reptile Rainforest, our Kommunity Stage, the Travelin’ Farmer and DooDoo and his Dance Party and more


Watermelon Fest – The Straffordville Community hosts the annual Watermelon Fest at the Straffordville Community Park, 56169 Heritage Line.  A parade at 10:00am kicks off the day. A pancake breakfast at the fire hall, watermelon seed-spitting contest, midway rides, silent auction, food and craft vendors, music and entertainment, free face painting & children’s activities make for an affordable family outing enjoyed by young and old. Corn Festival – This weekend long event will feature live entertainment, a classic car show, parade, corn eating, tossing and peeling contests and more!



The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival – From paddling events, kayak sprint events to Arts & Culture Routes Vendors, kayak celebration is in the air and you cannot miss it in Timmins, Ontario. And even if you are not into kayaking competition, there is still something for everyone. Here are some of the highlights you can expect from one of the best and popular kayak competitions in Canada and Ontario in particular.

Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival – Celebrating its 26th year, the Bucker Carnival is bringing back busker favourites who performed in past carnivals. Enjoy a weekend full of busker street performers, Buskerama Camp Kids, fireworks and family fun!

What are you Thankful for this weekend?  This weekend is all about being thankful and spending time with friends and family, not to mention the copious amounts of food that we will all indulge in.  The weather is supposed to be fantastic so be sure to get out with your loved ones and enjoy fall in Ontario.  Wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving weekend.

Rotary’s Pumpkinville – It’s baaaaack! Autumn has hit Amherstburg, and it’s time to celebrate the harvest!  So, put on a costume and bring the whole family out for a day of fun-filled, Halloween themed activities: children’s rides, games, arts and craft vendors, contests and more!  Food and drink will be available.  Rain or shine, come out and join us for a spooktacular time!


Colours of Fall Concert (Thursday night) – Start your Thanksgiving festivities with family and friends at the Colours of Fall Concert. As the leaves turn colour in the fall, enjoy one last concert in beautiful Town Park as an early celebration for Thanksgiving. Enjoy an evening of pumpkin carving, live entertainment and an old fashioned community corn roast.  This will be great fun for the whole family!

Thanksgiving Market & Sidewalk Sale – Grand Bend’s Thanksgiving Market & Sidewalk Sale offers the bargain hunter a cornucopia of unique items.The Eilber Street parking lot plays host location to up to 30 craft and product vendors. The criteria for vendor participation includes the needs to have grown, raised or made the item themselves. Products range from vegetables, fruits and organic meats to roasted coffee beans, fresh-baked pies, muffins and baked treats to hand-crafted quilts, jewellery, clothing and home decor.

Norfolk Country Fair and Horse Show – The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show is in its 173rd year, and is the fifth largest fair in Ontario, with over 100,000 visitors each year. This fair features agricultural displays, craft exhibits, food vendors, art demonstrations, talent competitions, midway rides, free grandstand entertainment, and many added special attractions.


Celebrate the Harvest  at the Canada Agriculture Museum.  To celebrate the harvest, join us at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, where you will see farm machinery, such as a baler and a model of a grain elevator, in action! Test your knowledge on Canadian food crops, such as apples, corn and pumpkins, by taking part in various challenges and talking to local producers. Learn how simple and easy it is to preserve food with one of the guides in the demonstration kitchen. Discover also how certain farms are also producing energy from sources such as the sun, the wind, or crops.


Rockton’s World Fair – Thanksgiving Weekend is a time of family and friends. It is also a time for country fellowship.  Rockton World’s Fair is the best place to experience this warm, country atmosphere.  Fun includes: Midway, Derby,  vendors, Poultry, Pigeon & Rabbit Show, Rural & Urban Competitions, Craft Show and Sale, Helicopter Rides, Home Craft Displays, School Fair and Junior Displays, Photography Display, Fire Safety House, Little Ray’s Reptiles and the list goes on and on!


International Red Panda Day @ The Toronto Zoo – Learn all about these amazing and endangered creatures and meet our red panda family! Don’t miss a special meet-the-keeper talk plus enrichment feeding at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm and bid on fun prizes in a panda-themed silent auction. All proceeds support the Red Panda Network, an organization committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat.


Camp Spooky @ Canada’s Wonderland – Little Ghouls and Goblins will absolutely love the Halloween-themed activities in Camp Spooky. Trick-or-Treat in the Camp Spooky area and uncover delicious treats, join the Costume Parade and march through Planet Snoopy for all to see, head over to Playhouse Theatre and see Charlie Brown’s Trick-or-Treat show and be sure to visit the mazes.

Welcome to the season of apple picking, fall festivals, fairs and all things Autumn!!  I love this time of year as there are so many fun activities that you can attend or do with your family.  Check out our Weekend Fun Guide and you are sure to find a few fun things for family fun this weekend!


It’s Apple season in Ontario and we’ve got a great list of local Orchards and Farms where you can take the family to pick your own


The Force is with LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto this Weekend!!  As the Jedi continue to wage their centuries-old conflict with the Sith, you are invited to dress up as your favourite Star WarsTM character and participate in various activities.

FUN planned for LEGO® Star Wars Days, include:

In addition to hosting a fabulous party, we will be holding a silent auction and raffle in attempts to raise funds for our extended programming needs.

Fall Fair – The 183rd Kingston Fall Fair at the Kingston Memorial Centre Fairgrounds includes the 17th annual Country Singing Showdown, CCW Wrestling, Horse and Cattle shows and World’s Finest Shows!


Pow Wow @ Museum of Archaeology – Visitors can spend the whole day taking part in the endless activities and workshops we offer including: Traditional dancers, singers, drummers, storytellers, Art and cooking demonstrations, Hand drum, Four Medicines, Beading, Lacrosse, & Mandala making workshops, London Potter’s Guild Pit Firing; Flint Knapping demonstrations, Iroquois Beadwork Exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum, Food and Craft vendors featuring traditional items, Child & Youth Activities and Tour the Museum


Fall Fair – 60+ Years and going strong, the Milford Fair is a lovely reminder of a simpler time and a true agricultural fair. Garlic Festival – It is a delicious culinary event in Niagara-On-The-Lake, where there are vendors from all over Ontario that either grow garlic, like elephant or music, or incorporate garlic into their dishes like jams and jellies even chocolate. There will be cooking demo’s, garlic braiding also how to grow garlic. with lots more to see. Try Garlic Ice Cream.


World Fair – The Oro World’s Fair showcases and celebrates agriculture and rural living. Hundreds of exhibits, a midway, demolition derby, tractor pull and great food make the Oro World’s Fair fun for the entire family.


Electric Fields Festival – Electric Fields is a festival about play. Artists at play. Technology at play. Everything perched in a state between unknown and known, on the exciting edge of unpredictable, ready to create a new experience for the audience and artist alike.

Owen Sound

Ribfest – This is a family event with free gate admission, live music and kids’ activities.  Teams of Ribbers compete for various trophies including best ribs, best chicken, best sauce and the coveted “People’s Choice” award — as chosen by the festival attendees.

Port Hope 

Annual Fall Fair – Don’t miss the oldest fair in central Ontario where the fun includes: live entertainment, petting zoo and pony rides, midway, tractor and horse pull, demo derby, antique cars and tractors and more.

Dragon Boat Festival – The Annual Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is a one day, recreational, Hong Kong style race. Over sixty teams participate. The Grand Champion and Community Division Champions are honoured with trophies at the closing ceremonies. Proceeds from the event support community activities.


Bloor West Village Ukranian Festival – On top of the music, dancers and musicians,  you will find vendor kiosks: delicious authentic Ukrainian food and beverages, beautiful souvenirs, interactive pavilions, and more. This year you can also enjoy SIDEWALK SALE shopping at the local Bloor West Village businesses. There is a midway for kids and youth. Take in the colourful parade on Saturday morning at 11am.

Roncesvalles Polish Festival – Great entertainment is the key to any great festival, and we’ve got it all, from award-winning buskers and street performers to fantastic polka bands, Polish folklore and dance groups, and great local musicians of every variety on six stages with continuous music all Saturday and Sunday. Oh and don’t forget to sample some of the delicious food!

Gluten Free Expo @ Metro Toronto Convention Centre – Discover, sample and buy Gluten Free products from over 100 exhibitors while learning from health and cooking expo


Fall Fair – “COWBOY BOOTS & COUNTRY ROOTS” this is the theme for this year’s fall fair.  There will be lots of fun for the whole family, including: midway, fireworks, kids shows, entertainment, food, demonstrations, exhibits, horse show and more.


Apple Festival @ Birtch Farm – Come celebrate the apple season as we host our annual Apple Festival.  Horse drawn wagon rides through the orchard, along the “Apple Tale Trail”, colourful autumn displays and yummy apple treats baked in very own bakery are just some of the pleasures that await you. Lunch, fresh from the grill and listening to live music will enhance your experience.  Farmer Bob’s Barnyard Adventure will be in full swing with several new activities.
