Barrie Fair – It’s that time of year again! This year the Barrie fair will be filled with many things to see and do, including a variety of livestock & home craft shows, vendors, truck & tractor pulls, demolition derbies, live entertainment, and the ever-popular midway. Not to mention over $100,000 in prize money! The Barrie Fair has always aimed to bring together families from across Ontario, and this year is no exception!

Blue Mountain

BARK in the park – BARK in the PARK Bowmanville is a family friendly event where family dogs are the focus. Busker Festival – Second Annual Niagara Falls Buskerfest This is a free, all ages, community event showcasing more than 50 performances from world class performers from around the globe, artisan and food vendors and much, much more, in support of arts programming for children and youth.

Capital Fair – The Fair offers a Friday night and Saturday Western Horse Barrel Race competition and a full Gymkhana Western style show on our final Sunday.   The Urbandale Corporation Kids Zone features a Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, our Bird of Prey show, the Reptile Rainforest, our Kommunity Stage, the Travelin’ Farmer and DooDoo and his Dance Party and more

Watermelon Fest – The Straffordville Community hosts the annual Watermelon Fest at the Straffordville Community Park, 56169 Heritage Line.  A parade at 10:00am kicks off the day. A pancake breakfast at the fire hall, watermelon seed-spitting contest, midway rides, silent auction, food and craft vendors, music and entertainment, free face painting & children’s activities make for an affordable family outing enjoyed by young and old. Puppets UP! Garlic Festival – Perth Garlic Festival is a celebration to the ‘stinking rose’. International Powerboat Show – This is an all-ages three (3) day outdoor festival with over 35,000 people in attendance. The festival’s main attraction is the free professional powerboat race on the St. Clair River, Sunday afternoon. There is plenty of daytime programming geared to the whole family which includes boat parades, powerboat time trials, boat displays, wakeboard competitions, meet and greet with drivers, inflatable childrens’ play area, local bands, street performers, local business’, artist kiosks and an interactive tall ships.

Sandfest – Sandfest is Sauble Beach’s annual summer party! Join us for an incredible weekend of family fun, including live music, sandcastle building, a classic car show featuring over 450 vehicles, vintage motorcycles, Sauble’s Got Talent and so much more.

Happy first long weekend of spring/summer 2015!!  It seems likes we have been waiting for forever for the nice weather to arrive so  hopefully the weather cooperates so we can all get out and have fun with our families.  This weekend there are many events taking place across Ontario including fireworks, festivals and spring celebrations.  You can always visit a local Amusement Park or Zoo as well for some family fun. Whatever you do, have fun and keep safe!

Dragon Boat Festival – The Annual Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is a one day, recreational, Hong Kong style race. Over sixty teams participate. The Grand Champion and Community Division Champions are honoured with trophies at the closing ceremonies. Proceeds from the event support community activities.

Toronto

Bloor West Village Ukranian Festival – On top of the music, dancers and musicians,  you will find vendor kiosks: delicious authentic Ukrainian food and beverages, beautiful souvenirs, interactive pavilions, and more. This year you can also enjoy SIDEWALK SALE shopping at the local Bloor West Village businesses. There is a midway for kids and youth. Take in the colourful parade on Saturday morning at 11am.

Roncesvalles Polish Festival – Great entertainment is the key to any great festival, and we’ve got it all, from award-winning buskers and street performers to fantastic polka bands, Polish folklore and dance groups, and great local musicians of every variety on six stages with continuous music all Saturday and Sunday. Oh and don’t forget to sample some of the delicious food!

Worm Rodeo @ Chappell Farms – This is a country fair with a difference! With games for the kiddies, food, refreshments, prizes for the champions and even neighbours you haven’t met yet.  Make friends with the animals already found at Chappell Farms.  There are small animals for the kids, big and little, to see and feed.  Sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, peacocks, and Tom the turkey.  Live entertainment, food, refreshments, and yes (did we mention that we are on a farm) there will even be corn and fresh produce.

Jazz Festival – Take in five days of great music in a lovely Canadian city. Sign up for a workshop or take in a panel discussion or lecture in addition to listening to the many local and international artists. The creative improvised music and innovative jazz shows played in a community setting have helped this festival earn international acclaim. Venues include churches, an art gallery and youth music centre. 11,000 or so visitors come out to enjoy this annual event the weekend after Labour Day.

Locke Street Festival – Locke Street Festival is an annual event with stalls, live entertainment, food and everything you need for a fun-filled family day out.

Kingston

Ribfest & Craft Beer Show – Barbequed ribs and chicken, great craft-brewed beer, live entertainment – all in the great atmosphere of Memorial Centre Park. Life doesn’t get much better! Bring your friends, family and co-workers and savour the flavour! Admission is free but please don’t forget a donation for the food bank.

Mighty Machines Showcase @ Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort – The Mighty Machines Showcase is a family oriented community event that brings Mighty Machines to life, providing adults and kids a chance to see construction and other service vehicles up close.

North Lanark Highland Games – Celebrate the Scottish culture and heritage of the Ottawa Valley at the 31st annual North Lanark Highland Games.  There will be twenty pipe bands, a hundred dancers and champion heavyweight athletes combine to present what is recognized as one of the Ottawa valley’s premier summer events.
