Rather than risk a stake in the heart, Dracula opts to ”stake a claim” in the New World, disguising himself as a simple Middlesex County farmer. Unfortunately for the locals, he still needs to feed!  Advanced booking required.

Scarecrow Invasion – The “Invasion of Scarecrows” begins in mid September through to mid October. More than 250 scarecrows will be found in the downtown area alone – dangling sassily from downtown lamp posts, hiding in bushes and trees, lounging happily on benches, peeking out from behind cornstalks and resting comfortably on porches and verandahs. They frolic everywhere! The main street (Sykes St.), and harbour area, are particularly alive with scarecrows during this time.

Little Royal Fair – Welcome to the Walkerton Agricultural Society’s “Little Royal Fair.” We are very proud to host the 159th edition of the fair. We have a tremendous heavy horse show that is held indoors. We have a huge selection of crafts, quilts, canning, baking and sewing on display. We also have woodworking, grains, roots and vegetable displays and wine. There is a poultry and rabbit show as well as the pet show for the kids.

Bruce Trail Day is an annual event celebrating Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, hosted by the Bruce Trail Conservancy and each of its nine Bruce Trail Clubs. Each Club of the Bruce Trail Conservancy is hosting free guided hikes and family activities to help you explore the Bruce Trail and discover the amazing variety of life along the Niagara Escarpment. Come and learn about our year-round hiking programs, trail maintenance opportunities, and what we are doing to establish a conservation corridor from Niagara to Tobermory.  Our Bruce Trail Day events will run rain or shine so dress for the weather and get ready for a great day on the Bruce Trail!

Scarecrow Invasion – The “Invasion of Scarecrows” begins in mid September through to mid October. More than 250 scarecrows will be found in the downtown area alone – dangling sassily from downtown lamp posts, hiding in bushes and trees, lounging happily on benches, peeking out from behind cornstalks and resting comfortably on porches and verandahs. They frolic everywhere! The main street (Sykes St.), and harbour area, are particularly alive with scarecrows during this time.

Dundas International Buskerfest – Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all ages; come one come all, step right up – see the marvels, witness the wonders, feel the excitement of the greatest show on Earth!  Buskerfest is a celebration of some of the hardest working folk in showbiz; acrobatics, juggling, breakdancing, music, comedy, sideshow stunts…all out on the street working for gratuities! 35th Annual Greek Food Festival – Eat,Drink, Dance… OPA!Come be Greek for a day. We are celebrating our 35th annual Greek festival showcasing our Greek culture and cuisine. Admission is $2.00 at the door. Children under 12 are free. So are you with non perishable food item donations for our local food bank. There will be live entertainment, children area, dance performers. All takes place at our community center at 527 Bridgeport Road E. on June 6th & 7th

Milton

Street Festival – (Saturday) The Milton downtown core will be shut down so you can get down and have some fun with the family.  Starting at noon, the Street Festival will feature a wide variety of activities. Event patrons will experience street vendors, community groups, buskers, artisans, a “Kidz Zone” with family-friendly fun, and two stages of live entertainment, including demonstrations, comedy and music.

Medieval Festival @ Upper Canada Village – This weekend you can step even further back in time – to the Medieval period – as Upper Canada Village hosts its 8th Medieval Festival.  Bring the entire family to be entertained by jousting knights and continuous entertainment, enjoy demonstrations and throughout the day, children of all ages can try their hand at one of several games throughout the festival including Jacob’s Ladder, miniature ballista and catapult games, Frog Race, and more.

Blackburn Fun Fair – Blackburn Hamlet’s Annual Community fair established in 1971 is a few days of community events, a small midway, games, fun for kids as well as all day live music from noon to midnight on the Saturday including licensed beer garden.

Mining Day – A free even for all ages showcasing the mining and mineral exploration industry. Come out and learn about local rocks and minerals, listen to one of the many talks regarding historical mining in Northwestern Ontario or visit one of the 30 exhibits related to mining, geology, heavy equipment, and environmental protection. Dragon Boat Festival – Dragon boat racing is a fun outdoor family event featuring races involving teams of 20 or more paddlers in the largest flat-water canoes in the world. Dragon dancers and vendors also featured.

Art in the Park – During the Art in the Park you will enjoy viewing over 275 artists and artisans from around Ontario, Quebec and the State of Michigan who have come to display and retail their wares. With the addition of our Friday night launch party AIP has moved a higher class of engaging art and entertainment. Art in the Park is the only 360 degree family event in Essex County where the whole family can enjoy many elements or artisitc pleasures. We even have something for the kids.

Rather than risk a stake in the heart, Dracula opts to ”stake a claim” in the New World, disguising himself as a simple Middlesex County farmer. Brick-or-Treat @ LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto – In October, something spooky comes over the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centres and they come to life with BRICK-OR-TREAT!  Every Saturday and Sunday, little ghosts and mummies can experience themed decor, spooky entertainment, costume contests, building contests, scavenger hunts and much more, all included in the price of admission.

Camp Spooky @ Canada’s Wonderland – Little Ghouls and Goblins will absolutely love the Halloween-themed activities in Camp Spooky. Trick-or-Treat in the Camp Spooky area and uncover delicious treats, join the Costume Parade and march through Planet Snoopy for all to see, head over to Playhouse Theatre and see Charlie Brown’s Trick-or-Treat show and be sure to visit the mazes.
