Spring is definitely in the air and there are lots of Spring and Cottage shows taking place as the Maple Syrup festivals wind down this weekend.  Whatever you do, be sure to get out and enjoy our first blast of spring weather with your family.

Home & Garden Show – Spring is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to start imagining what your home and garden could be like this summer! Metroland Durham Region Media Group is hosting the Annual Clarington Home and Garden Show April 10th, 11th and 12th at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. This year, the Home and Garden Show has grown again. Almost 100 vendors are participating in this year’s event showcasing their products and services, including landscaping, windows and doors, sunrooms, financial services, contractors, decorators decks, garage doors and a whole lot more! The complex will be buzzing a wide array of vendors, keynote speakers and seminars over the weekend.

Edwards –  Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm (Open weekends until April 12th) – Join us for a sleigh ride, visit the sugar shack, and watch the sap to syrup process unfold while enjoying taffy on the snow and a pancake brunch at the Pancake House.

Holstein – Holstein MapleFest (April 11-12th) @ Love’s Sugarbush – Bring the whole family for a day in our 40 acre sugarbush. Weʼll be serving our tummy filling Pancake and Sausage breakfast all day long. Enjoy our free craft sale with over 30 original vendors. Plenty of demonstrations in the sugar bush to enjoy, including the Fergus Highlands Pipe Band, Blacksmith, Taffy Pull, Ice Cream Making, Candle making, Catapults, our new Rope Bridge and plenty more.

Enjoy pancakes with real maple syrup and buy some maple syrup or sugar to take home. The sugar bush is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day of the Maple Madness program. It is officially spring, and although there may still be traces of snow on the ground, spring means it’s Maple Syrup time in Ontario!  This weekend there are so many maple syrup themed events taking place.  You can also check out upcoming and ongoing events here.  Nothing says Canadian family fun like maple syrup eh?

Moonlight Snowshoe Hike @ Crawford Lake Conservation Area – Discover the magic of winter at night, the snow illuminated by moonlight and the stars bright in the night sky. Moonlight Snowshoe Hikes begin with an introductory video and snowshoeing lesson followed by a guided hike through the winter woodlands. Aylmer – Maple Syrup Festival @ Springwater Conservation –  Every weekend in March they host their Annual Maple Syrup Festival! How Canadian eh? It’s a great family event for people of all ages that want to learn how Maple Syrup is made. You can tour the old-fashioned sugar shanty for a demonstration and later, enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides through the sugar bush, and of course, eat pancakes at our Pancake House!

Kingston –  Maple Madness @ Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area (March 8th – 30th) – March means maple syrup at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. Take a tractor-drawn wagon back to our sugar bush to see how maple syrup was made in the olden days and how we make it now. Enjoy pancakes with real maple syrup and buy some maple syrup or sugar to take home. The sugar bush is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day of the Maple Madness program. Be sure to check out some of our special activities like puppet shows, sugar bush demonstrations, our annual Bake Sale and Olde Thyme Sugar Bush Chores

Prince Edward County – Maple in the Country (March 21-23) – It’s time to celebrate the first harvest of the spring in Prince Edward County – MAPLE SYRUP! Bring the whole family for a fun-filled weekend full of pancake breakfasts, maple syrup demonstrations, lumberjack shows, petting zoos, live music, and more.

Delta – Maple Syrup Festival – (April 19-20th) As soon as the sap starts to run, the community of Delta starts to prepare for the Delta Maple Syrup Festival.  Started as a Centennial Project, this annual event offers entertainment, refreshments, activities and of course, maple syrup and pancakes to the thousands of people who visit the Village of Delta each spring.

Central Ontario

Buckhorn – Maplefest (Weekends March 15th-30th) @ McLean Berry Farm – At Maplefest, there are a tons of fun activities for the entire family. Whether it’s going for a wagon ride, eating pancakes with fresh maple syrup or seeing how the sweet stuff is made, there is something to do for everyone! Kids and kids at heart love tapping their toes and swinging their hips to live music, trying their hand at tapping a maple tree and testing their toffee on snow twirling skills to get a taste of the sweet stuff! Farm animals and fresh straw offer playtime for some, while others prefer to take a stroll through the sugar bush with a pair of snowshoes.

Elmvale – Maple Syrup Festival (April 26th)  The Festival offers something for the whole family.  Our award winning maple syrup, arts and crafts, midway rides, pancake eating and log sawing contests, great music and of course the sugar bush tours throughout the day Saturday 

Holstein – Holstein MapleFest (April 12-13th) @ Love’s Sugarbush – Bring the whole family for a day in our 40 acre sugarbush. Weʼll be serving our tummy filling Pancake and Sausage breakfast all day long. Enjoy our free craft sale with over 30 original vendors. Plenty of demonstrations in the sugar bush to enjoy, including the Fergus Highlands Pipe Band, Blacksmith, Taffy Pull, Ice Cream Making, Candle making, Catapults, our new Rope Bridge and plenty more.

Midland – Sweetwater Festival (March 29th – 30th) @ Wye Marsh – Activities are happening all day at the Wye Marsh during the Sweetwater Festival! Come out and see how maple syrup is made, roast some bannock on the fire or enjoy our delicious pancake breakfast. Thank you can tell the difference between real and fake maple syrup? We will put you to the test. This is one sweet event.

Orillia – Tap Into Maple –  A unique family adventure all about MAPLE in Ontario’s Lake Country from March 1st – May 31st. Located in Central Ontario and only a short drive from the GTA, Ontario’s Lake Country and Springwater are the perfect place for maple trees, and celebrating all things maple. Some of the local maple syrup producers have been harvesting the sap for over 100 years.  Local residents and visitors are encouraged to experience all things maple this spring on what just might be the sweetest route through one of the prettiest parts of the province.

Orangeville – Maple Syrup Festival (March 29th-30th) @ Island Lake Conservation Area –  With wagon rides, live music and entertainment, a tour through the sugar bush, and maple syrup tasting, the whole family can enjoy this annual event.

Sunderland – Maple Syrup Festival (March 29th-30th) – People travel great distances each year to see what riches the little town of Sunderland has to offer. They come to join in the festival fun and to be part of a small town community filled with love, drive and spirit. Everyone enjoys the exciting variety of events taking place during the festival weekend.

Uptopia – Spring Tonic (April 5th-6th) @ Tiffin Centre – The highlight of the maple syrup season at the Tiffin Centre, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Barrie! Enjoy a pancake breakfast, with maple syrup made on site, see how maple syrup is made today, and long ago, enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, live entertainment & more!

North Bay – Powassan Maple Syrup Festival (April 26th)– As in years previous, we will be starting the day with our Pancake Breakfasts at 7am. Most festival activities and entertainment generally come to end an around 4 pm. It will be a full day of food, live music, crafts, and fun family events.

Parry Sound – Killbear Provincial Park’s 8th Annual Maple Syrup Festival  @ Killbear Provincial Park (April 5th) – Wagon rides through Killbear, guided tours of the sugar bush and sugar shack and Hot pancakes with pure maple syrup, bacon, tea, coffee or juice ($)
