Rather than risk a stake in the heart, Dracula opts to ”stake a claim” in the New World, disguising himself as a simple Middlesex County farmer. Unfortunately for the locals, he still needs to feed!  Advanced booking required.

Scarecrow Invasion – The “Invasion of Scarecrows” begins in mid September through to mid October. More than 250 scarecrows will be found in the downtown area alone – dangling sassily from downtown lamp posts, hiding in bushes and trees, lounging happily on benches, peeking out from behind cornstalks and resting comfortably on porches and verandahs. They frolic everywhere! The main street (Sykes St.), and harbour area, are particularly alive with scarecrows during this time.

Little Royal Fair – Welcome to the Walkerton Agricultural Society’s “Little Royal Fair.” We are very proud to host the 159th edition of the fair. We have a tremendous heavy horse show that is held indoors. We have a huge selection of crafts, quilts, canning, baking and sewing on display. We also have woodworking, grains, roots and vegetable displays and wine. There is a poultry and rabbit show as well as the pet show for the kids.

The criteria for vendor participation includes the needs to have grown, raised or made the item themselves. Scarecrow Invasion – The “Invasion of Scarecrows” begins in mid September through to mid October. More than 250 scarecrows will be found in the downtown area alone – dangling sassily from downtown lamp posts, hiding in bushes and trees, lounging happily on benches, peeking out from behind cornstalks and resting comfortably on porches and verandahs. They frolic everywhere! The main street (Sykes St.), and harbour area, are particularly alive with scarecrows during this time.

Midland

Thanksgiving Harvest Festival and Arts and Crafts Show and Sale at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons.  Sainte-Marie’s Thanksgiving Harvest Festival and Arts and Crafts Show and Sale is a fun family event, with lots of on-site activities and over 40 outstanding artisans and crafters.The event is a regional favourite and typically includes both new and returning artisans.

Morrisburg

Pumpkin Inferno – Weekends through October. Come and stroll through a hauntingly beautiful and spellbinding outdoor exhibit of now close to 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins, set against a stirring night-time backdrop just inside the gates of historic Upper Canada Village. Norfolk Country Fair and Horse Show – The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show is in its 173rd year, and is the fifth largest fair in Ontario, with over 100,000 visitors each year. Camp Spooky @ Canada’s Wonderland – Enjoy a boo-rific Halloween event just for families this fall at Camp Spooky!  Canada’s Wonderland is not all scary in the fall. Bruce Trail Day

Bruce Trail Day is an annual event celebrating Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, hosted by the Bruce Trail Conservancy and each of its nine Bruce Trail Clubs. Each Club of the Bruce Trail Conservancy is hosting free guided hikes and family activities to help you explore the Bruce Trail and discover the amazing variety of life along the Niagara Escarpment. Come and learn about our year-round hiking programs, trail maintenance opportunities, and what we are doing to establish a conservation corridor from Niagara to Tobermory.  Our Bruce Trail Day events will run rain or shine so dress for the weather and get ready for a great day on the Bruce Trail!
