Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is coming to Ontario

Making a difference, one stop at a time

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train hits the rails again on November 28th and will be visiting communities across our Ontario. Each event features a boxcar stage, a lineup of great musical talent and a contribution to the local food bank. Everyone who attends is encouraged to donate food and money which stays in their community.  For a list of when the Holiday Train hits a community near you check here

Holiday Traditions @ Royal Botanical Gardens –  Celebrate winter at RBG with Holiday Traditions, RBG’s annual holiday season event featuring Canada’s best all-botanical model train installation. You’ll find Canadian highlights in RBG Centre and a new train in our Mediterranean Garden featuring Wonders of the World.     Christmas Tree of Hope – Tree Lighting and Concert @ Gore Park (Friday) – This festive event, much enjoyed by Hamiltonians young and old is presented in partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement Area and AM 900 CHML and will bring together people from all parts of our community for the lighting of the tree and a free concert by local band Crank . Children can ride holiday amusement rides and place their letters to Santa in a “direct to the North Pole” mailbox. The free children’s train and carousel rides will begin 12:00 p.m. Friday December 5th and continue operation in Gore Park until 3:00 p.m. Christmas Eve – December 24th.

    Twas the Night Before Christmas @ Westfield Heritage Village – Enjoy Westfield by candlelight and feel the warmth of the season through music, food samples, fireworks and a visit from Father Christmas. Christmas shopping is available at the Gift Shop and the restaurant features light meals and refreshments.

    Christmas, Past and Present @ Simcoe County Museum – A great way to enjoy and embrace the Christmas spirit. The event runs Friday, December 6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 7 from 1 to 8 p.m. Festive music, crafts, food and refreshments, lantern lit pathways and Heritage Buildings welcome visitors as they explore Simcoe County’s festive past. Guests can take a horse drawn carriage ride in the brisk winter night. Several cultural groups are partnering with us this year to share their holiday treats and traditions.

    Santa House and Sleigh Rides – Santa makes a special trip to Downtown Woodstock to see all the boys and girls! Visit him in his House in Museum Square every Friday night in December from 5 PM to 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. He’s reserved a place on his knee, he always has a candy cane ready and, if you wish, you can even have your picture taken with Santa!     Festival of Lights – This is one of the more popular events in Kapuskasing. It kicks off mid-November and continues until mid-January. The festival consists of several winter activities including the lighting of thousands of Christmas lights in the Riverside Park.

    Fantasy of Lights – November 15th – January 7th -The 22nd Annual Kingsville Fantasy of Lights Festival has an outstanding line up of entertainment for the whole family.     Celebration of Lights – Many displays & thousands of lights along with a 72 foot arch over Front Street, light up Centennial Park during the holiday season. Opening ceremonies includes fireworks, entertainment, trolley rides, etc

    Toronto

    Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market – This holiday season Toronto will once again celebrate the romance and magic of a traditional Christmas at Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market. Inspired by the Old World and influenced by the New, this free annual event captures all of the tradition, heritage and charm of a European Christmas Market, while showcasing hundreds of unique and local handcrafted products. Family friendly entertainment includes musicians, carolers and children’s choirs.

    Cavalcade of Lights – Celebration of the 48th annual Cavalcade of Lights featuring the illumination of Toronto’s official Christmas tree, performances by some of Canada’s top musical talent, a brilliant fireworks show and a skating party at Nathan Phillips Square, the festive event is a holiday tradition in Toronto.

    One of a Kind Show and Sale@ Direct Energy Centre – Everything sold at the show is made by hand in North America by Canadian and/or American artisans.  The Christmas Show features handmade designs by over 800 artists, makers, designers and craftspeople.

    Wasaga Beach

    Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony – The annual lighting of the tree is a fun family evening including: Hot chocolate, Christmas Carols lead by the Prime Time Singers, count down to Tree Lighting and a visit from Santa Claus!

    Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is coming to Ontario

    Making a difference, one stop at a time

    The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train hits the rails again on November 28th and will be visiting communities across our Ontario. Each event features a boxcar stage, a lineup of great musical talent and a contribution to the local food bank. Everyone who attends is encouraged to donate food and money which stays in their community.  For a list of when the Holiday Train hits a community near you check here
