Bingemans is a splashin’ good time for the entire family! #Review

We are always up for trying out new places for family fun so when we were invited to visit Bingemans in Kitchener, my family was totally excited.  I had been years ago but had never been with the kids.

Thankfully we got a nice sunny day so it was a perfect day for the waterpark and we spent our entire day there.  Big Splash has 7 different waterslides, a heated wave pool and a splash area so there’s something for everyone.

Besides riding the slides over and over again, we also enjoyed this about the water park:

  • There is cool music pumping through the speakers all day
  • Lots of loungers and chairs with shady areas available
  • There is an ice cream hut on location as well as a snack bar but I love the fact that you can bring in your own food.  We packed up a cooler with sandwiches, fruit, veggies and water and then hit the ice cream place for dessert.
  • Staff is super friendly and attentive to the safety of all guests
  • Bathrooms and the park in general were very clean

Beyond the Big Splash water park…

IMG_3208 IMG_3203-1 IMG_3215

For sure, the water park was the highlight of our kids day but there are so many other things you can do at Bingemans.  Included in your daytime entry, you can also use the pool, mini golf and beach volleyball.  We loved the mini golf!  As a competitive family, this course was a great family battle on this super cute course to see who would be victorious.  I am happy to say that the winner was…. ME!

Onsite there is also Funworx which has video games, a climbing area and a ropes course.  We barely made it there to play due to all the fun we had in the waterpark.  The kids were a little disappointed because we didn’t have socks for them which is required on the climbing structure and neither were wearing close toed shoes for the ropes course.  Now we could have bought socks but they were quite happy to play some video games, grab some fries and head back to our site for the night.  KingPin bowling looked cool as well but again there was the time factor.  That being said, when we return we will be sure to stay more than one night so we can make time to do everything.

Camping At Bingemans…

Because one day at Bingemans is not enough to take in all the fun, why not consider staying the night. In advance, you can book a campsite to tent or park your trailer or stay in a cabin or a yurt.  We stayed the night in a Yurt for the first time ever and it was a cool experience!

In Yurt Village, you will find9 yurts that you can stay in if you are looking for a hassle free way to spend the night.  The best thing we found with the yurt is that there was barely any set-up required.  The yurt was equipped with 2 sets of bunks (single over single and single over double), a small table and chairs and a front locking door to keep all you valuables safe while you are away from the site.  Thick canvas sides keep you protected from the elements with the side windows allowing for good airflow.  Each site is equipped with a picnic table for outdoor eating or games and a fire pit for yummy nighttime snacks.  Oh and the kids were excited that the yurt had an electrical outlet so they could charge their iPads for a late night movie.  All in all it was a cool experience with an easy set-up.  When asked if they would yurt camp again I got 2 really loud cheers and 1 cheer for regular tent camping.  Whatever the liking, we can come back and enjoy Bingemans again in a tent or in a yurt and have a great time!

Snappy Towels – Our favourite new adventure towel

Our family is all about Summer fun!  We spend most of our time swimming, visiting splash pads, running through the sprinkler and jumping in the lake.  Yep, Summer for us is pretty much all about water fun.

I recently heard about a new company out of Toronto, ON called Snappy towels.  There concept is simple but one that makes so much sense.  You know one of those, “how did I not think of this myself” good ideas.

The 411 on Snappy Towels

Snappy Towels transform from beach towel to cape to hooded towel to cover-up in a snap!

Perfect for boys and girls 2 and up, Snappy Towels are fun at the beach, bath time, swimming lessons and everywhere in between. Sized just right for kids, Snappy Towels are 50″ x 27″, mid-weight 100% cotton.

Snappy Towels have colorful snaps that allow them to be worn as a super hero cape, princess robe, hooded towel, poncho, blanket wrap and more. The only limit is a child’s imagination!

IMG_3107  IMG_3088-1

What the Kids love about their new Snappy Towels:

– They are “soft and cuddly”

– They are big enough to wrap up most of their body

– They can work the snaps by themselves

And their absolute favourite reasons is the different ways they can use them…

 IMG_3093  IMG_3097-1

Here’s what Mom loves about Snappy Towels:

– The size is perfect for our every day outings, not too big and not too small

– The towels are customizable

– Pick your towel colour (pink, blue or green)

– Choose your snap colour (white, yellow or blue)

–  Add your name or a nickname

– Choose the font your would like your name written in (Choose from 3 fonts)

– Great quality!

Washes well.  After washing them I was happy to see there was no pilling, the snaps and embroidery were all in tact

– When the kids go to sleepaway camp this Summer there is no need for a label because they are embroidered with their names

– They are a Canadian company!

Summer Vacation hasn’t even barely started yet and our Snappy Towels have already been on so many adventures with us with so many more to come!
