Holiday Traditions @ Royal Botanical Gardens –  Celebrate winter at RBG with Holiday Traditions, RBG’s annual holiday season event featuring Canada’s best all-botanical model train installation. You’ll find Canadian highlights in RBG Centre and a new train in our Mediterranean Garden featuring Wonders of the World. Weekends are filled with seasonal activities, musical entertainment, local school and adult choirs, light and model train displays, and a traditional Santa. Runs until January 5th 2014


Candyland @ Central Park – Synthetic ice surface offers ‘any weather’ family fun! Marshmallow toss, jumbo candy kebobs, live entertainment, donut bumpers, ice building blocks, gingerbread houses, sweet treats and Santa and Mrs. Claus! 10am – 5pm


Christmas Magic – Christmas Magic transforms Victoria Park and the Waterfront into a dazzling display of over 100,000 coloured lights.


Holiday magic on Main (Friday only) – Enjoy Great Shopping, Sales and Promotions, a visit with Santa Claus, Carollers, Family Fun, Horse and Wagon Rides and more. Participating businesses will provide an assortment of events for the evening, including providing refreshments, Open Houses and Holiday Sales and Specials and providing different activities.


Old Fashioned Christmas @ Georgina Pioneer Village  – Kick off the holiday season by stepping back in time to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds that a 19th Century Christmas would bring. Live music, tree decorating, holiday crafts, not apple cider, historic demonstrations & so much more!


Festival of Lights @ Lions Harbour Park – Let Goderich brighten your mood and delight your heart with yuletide joy, glittering lights, magical displays and special events during this annual salute to the festive holiday season.


Victorian Christmas @ Dundurn National Historic Site – Enjoy the beauty of a mid-19th century family Christmas celebration at Dundurn Castle. The Garden Club of Hamilton decorates the Castle in Victorian splendour with cedar boughs, ribbons and dried flowers. Bring your family and share a Hamilton holiday tradition.

Christmas in Gore Park – Featuring free pictures with Santa, Christmas vendors, musicalperformances, food trucks, free refreshments, mobile arcade,draws and giveaways.

Christmas Tree of Hope – Tree Lighting and Concert @ Gore Park (Friday) – This festive event, much enjoyed by Hamiltonians young and old is presented in partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement Area and AM 900 CHML and will bring together people from all parts of our community for the lighting of the tree and a free concert by local band Crank . Children can ride holiday amusement rides and place their letters to Santa in a “direct to the North Pole” mailbox. The free children’s train and carousel rides will begin 12:00 p.m. Friday December 5th and continue operation in Gore Park until 3:00 p.m. Christmas Eve – December 24th.

Twas the Night Before Christmas @ Westfield Heritage Village – Enjoy Westfield by candlelight and feel the warmth of the season through music, food samples, fireworks and a visit from Father Christmas. Christmas shopping is available at the Gift Shop and the restaurant features light meals and refreshments.


Festival of Lights – This is one of the more popular events in Kapuskasing. It kicks off mid-November and continues until mid-January. The festival consists of several winter activities including the lighting of thousands of Christmas lights in the Riverside Park.


Fantasy of Lights – November 15th – January 7th -The 22nd Annual Kingsville Fantasy of Lights Festival has an outstanding line up of entertainment for the whole family. Don’t miss Dinner With Santa, Opening Ceremonies with Fireworks at lakeside Park, Ice Wine and Art at the Park, The Santa Claus Parade, Special Senior’s Day, Train Rides around the Park, and of course over 200 lighted displays that bring lakeside park to life.


Winter Wonderland @ Victoria Park – Each holiday season London residents and visitors can stroll through Victoria Park and enjoy the glittering display of lights that create our city’s Winter Wonderland. In addition to more than 75,000 lights decorating park trees, there are a variety of displays including Santa and his reindeer, tin soldiers, a jack-in-the-box and the nativity.


Christmas on the Rails – Ride into the holiday season with us! We’re opening our doors one last time until the spring for a unique seasonal experience. There’s nothing like riding the rails through the woods with snow on the trees and Christmas carols in the air.


Alight at Night  @ Upper Canada Village – Bundle up for an evening stroll through this picture-perfect postcard setting! Come experience the enchantment of horse-drawn wagons and romantic carriage rides for two; and hop on board a life-size Toy Train. Holiday music, festive dining, shopping and other seasonal surprises all add to the ambience of the event. Now in its 13th year, the Alight at Night Festival has become a favourite family tradition

Niagara Falls

Winter Festival of Lights – Enjoy the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights, Canada’s foremost illumination festival in its most famous address – Niagara Falls – as we capture the magic of the holiday season from November 15, 2014 to January 12, 2015.


Bronte Creek Homestead Christmas – Wander at your leisure around the barns of Spruce Lane Farm where you will find variety of friendly farm animals. Next get ready for your family to visit Santa by slipping into your Victorian costumes. Your Victorian portraits (10-25 images) will be captured during your visit with Santa and are yours to take home on a souvenir USB stick. Creating memories which will last a life time!  Your Homestead Christmas experience will include traditional Christmas games and activities, tours of the elegantly decorated Spruce Lane Farmhouse and seasonal stories and songs in the parlour. Learn about the holiday traditions of the Victorian era!


Christmas, Past and Present @ Simcoe County Museum – A great way to enjoy and embrace the Christmas spirit. The event runs Friday, December 6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 7 from 1 to 8 p.m. Festive music, crafts, food and refreshments, lantern lit pathways and Heritage Buildings welcome visitors as they explore Simcoe County’s festive past. Guests can take a horse drawn carriage ride in the brisk winter night. Several cultural groups are partnering with us this year to share their holiday treats and traditions.


Vintage Village of Lights @ Cumberland Heritage Village Museum – Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings starting November 29 to December 21. Create new Christmas memories as you explore holiday traditions from days gone by in an enchanted setting. From kitchen parties to delicious festive foods, it’s sure to be an experience you won’t soon forget! And, who knows, you may meet up with the big man himself – Santa Claus! $7/person $18/family

Owen Sound

Festival of Northern Lights – No grinch can resist the magic of the lights as they gradually illuminate the Sydenham River  from the Sound to the downtown city core on opening night!  Join thousands as we enter The Gateway to the Holiday Season together on Friday November 14th. Continues until January 3rd, 2014


Festival of Lights @ Penetanguishene Centennial Museum – Meet at the museum and then proceed to the tree lighting at the town dock in a festive parade. After tree lighting, venture back to the museum for treats, crafts & more! Free Admission


Christmas by Candlelight @ Lang Pioneer Village – Get into the spirit of the season with a traditional Pioneer Christmas featuring horse and sleigh rides, roving carolers, a visit from Father Christmas, and much more!


Christmas in the Park – Family event, chili cook-off, live nativity scene and music. Lighting of the Lights and Jingle Carolling Walk.


Tree Lighting & Fireworks @ City Hall & Esplanade Park (Friday) – Join us as we turn on the holiday lights in Esplanade Park at Pickering’s Annual Tree Lighting & Fireworks event. Fun for the whole family; live entertainment at the Gazebo, Charity BBQ in the courtyard, rides, crafts and much more!  Free event. Food donations are appreciated.

Port Hope

Festival of Lights and Trees – If you really want to see the festive season in all its’ grandeur, don’t miss the Port Hope Capitol Theatre’s enchanting Capitol Christmas – A Festival of Lights and Trees – open for viewing until December 22nd. There is thousands of lights and around 80 uniquely decorated trees all generously donated by local sponsors


Celebration of Lights – Many displays & thousands of lights along with a 72 foot arch over Front Street, light up Centennial Park during the holiday season. Opening ceremonies includes fireworks, entertainment, trolley rides, etc

Smith Falls

The Celebration of Lights – Runs daily in Victoria Park with special activities, entertainment for the opening and closing and on Saturdays. We invite you to come out and enjoy the beauty of the season with the special business sponsored lighting displays. Together Smiths Falls is looking forward to our first year with this event and hope to be able to continue for years to come.


Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market – This holiday season Toronto will once again celebrate the romance and magic of a traditional Christmas at Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market. Inspired by the Old World and influenced by the New, this free annual event captures all of the tradition, heritage and charm of a European Christmas Market, while showcasing hundreds of unique and local handcrafted products. Family friendly entertainment includes musicians, carolers and children’s choirs.

One of a Kind Show and Sale@ Direct Energy Centre – Everything sold at the show is made by hand in North America by Canadian and/or American artisans.  The Christmas Show features handmade designs by over 800 artists, makers, designers and craftspeople.

Christmas by Lamplight @ Black Creek Pioneer Village – For three magical evenings, Black Creek Pioneer Village invites visitors to join in the holiday festivities. Bathed in the glow of lamplight and dressed in its finest holiday decor, Black Creek comes alive with live music, food and activities. Program only or with dinner options available.  Saturdays leading up to Christmas

FREE Skating @ Natrel Rink – Tucked away behind York Quay Centre and set against the beautiful shore of Lake Ontario, the city’s most scenic rink awaits. The Natrel Rink has been an unparalleled skating destination in Toronto for 30 years. It has a heated indoor change room with lockers and washrooms. Hot food and drinks are available at our rink-side restaurant  Best of all – skating is FREE!


Wonders of Winter – We are proud to announce our 20th Anniversay! The Wonders of Winter has been a beloved holiday tradition in the Region of Waterloo. We have over 100,000 lights and more than 100 displays. The festival runs until December 31, 2014 in Waterloo Park, Waterloo ON. Come and join us and be a part of it – bring the family!


Santa House and Sleigh Rides – Santa makes a special trip to Downtown Woodstock to see all the boys and girls! Visit him in his House in Museum Square every Friday night in December from 5 PM to 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. He’s reserved a place on his knee, he always has a candy cane ready and, if you wish, you can even have your picture taken with Santa! While there, make time for a free horse drawn sleigh ride throughout the Downtown
