Winterfest – The City of Barrie’s Winterfest is a great way to celebrate the winter season. Grab your mittens and join us for winter fun adventures that the whole family will enjoy.  Outdoor activities include polar bear swim, horse-drawn wagon rides, dogsled rides, lumberjack show, ice maze, and much more including spectacular sculptures carved from 300lb blocks of ice.  


Frostfest – Entertainment from 10 am – 2 pm at the Batawa Community Centre. Enjoy lunch and skating with the Trenton Golden Hawks on the outdoor rink, the community Bonfire with S’mores making, an outdoor petting and horse and carraige rides. Inside enjoy arts and crafts, facepainting and balloon twisting, cotton candy and live entertainment with Andy Forgie.


Winter Days in the Country @ Mountsberg – Enjoy the thrill of a brisk winter sleigh ride followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows around a campfire (additional fee applies). Mountsberg’s majestic team of percheron horses makes the experience unforgettable!  Call for details on children’s programming and live Bird of Prey shows! The Wildlife Walkway, Cameron Farm Yard and Play Barn are yours to explore!     Runs until Feb 16th


Winter Festivities – Come join us for the first 3 Saturdays in February. Free skating & music at the outdoor rink, horse drawn wagon rides, ice carving demonstrations, maple candy station, NZone Kids Club at Northumberland Mall and much more.


Winter Carnival – During February 6th to the 16th, everyone is invited to take part in Ontario’s Oldest Premier Winter Carnival. With over 110 different activities crammed into a week, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.  From the classic favourites like the Princess Pageant, Torchlight Parade and the Polar Bear Dip, to the new events like the Camao Snow Drags, there is no excuse to stay inside, curled up by the fireplace.


Sno*Fest @ The ROC – Saturday 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Join us for this wintery FREE Family event with lots of activities for all ages! Inflatables, games, giveaways, and lots more frosty fun! With many activities for all ages, you and your family won’t want to miss out on this snowy event that will warm up your winter! 


Winterfest – Winterfest Weekend has lots of activities this Friday to Sunday to get your family out and enjoy the winter weather. Fun events for the entire family include a candlelight walk, chili cook-off, snow-pitch tournament, childrens theatre, crafts, fireworks “Don’t Hibernate ~ Celebrate!”


Febfest – This week long festival features tons of winter fun for the entire family including figure skating, hockey, free public skating, snow and ice sculptures, historic hockey and more! Great fun for the whole family!

Niagara on the Lake

Days of Wine & Chocolate – Warm up your winter with this match made in heaven! Explore pairings of two of your favourite indulgences – wine and chocolate, as you tour the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake.


Season of the Snowsnake @ Crawford Lake Conservation Area – Explore the beautiful snowy landscape on a pair of snowshoes courtesy of Crawford’s rental program. Join staff for guided tours of the reconstructed Iroquoian Village at 11am1pm and 3pm.  Each tour will have a unique focus such as games, archaeology or storytelling.   Warm up after the tour with a complimentary cup of nature’s tea. Children can create a craft or enjoy a discovery hunt from 10am to 4pm.


Winterlude – A unique winter festival featuring snow and ice sculpture competitions, snow playgrounds, skating, sporting events and let’s not forget the world’s largest skating rink. Celebrate the joys of winter at Winterlude, with three fun-filled weeks in February. Canada’s favourite winter activities are featured across Ottawa and Gatineau at this annual event.

Bon Soo Winter Carnival – A week long winter carnival that incorporates the entire city. Set in the middle of winter, events include a children’s fantasy ice kingdom, polar bear swim, and a diverse program of outdoor and indoor sports and activity events, as well as cultural activities including concerts and ice sculptures.


Kuumba – Come down to Harbourfront Centre for FREE Black History Month events, including music, film, panel discussions and more.

Sportsmen’s Show @ Direct Energy Centre – Canada’s biggest and best outdoors show!  More than 500 exhibitors displaying the newest selections in products for camping, fishing, boating, hunting and hiking. The four-day event includes a dog show, a birds of prey exhibit, a spring boat show, a Canadian forces display and an outdoor adventure zone.


Winterfest – Fun-filled family event held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. will feature FREE stage entertainment on the outdoor Amphitheatre stage, the Midway Zone,  a new Video Gaming Zone, IceZone Carving Demos, face painting, art, and pizza making workshops along with opera performances and workshops by Opera Bel Canto of York, displays and much more!
