Fall is in the air so be sure to get out and enjoy it with the family this weekend.  Between fall fairs, harvest festivals, and farm fun, you are sure to find something fun that everyone will enjoy!


Bruce Trail Day

Bruce Trail Day is an annual event celebrating Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, hosted by the Bruce Trail Conservancy and each of its nine Bruce Trail Clubs. Each Club of the Bruce Trail Conservancy is hosting free guided hikes and family activities to help you explore the Bruce Trail and discover the amazing variety of life along the Niagara Escarpment. Come and learn about our year-round hiking programs, trail maintenance opportunities, and what we are doing to establish a conservation corridor from Niagara to Tobermory.  Our Bruce Trail Day events will run rain or shine so dress for the weather and get ready for a great day on the Bruce Trail!


IMBA’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

IMBA will celebrate its eleventh-annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (#TKMBD) on Saturday, October 3, 2015. This is a great opportunity for you to share your passion for pedaling with kids! IMBA is proud to partner with Subaru of America, the presenting sponsor of Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day.

Drive-ins in Ontario

There are some great family movies in theatres right now so why not take the family for a night out at a local drive-in?!   You can also check out what’s playing onSaturday morning at Cineplex theatres for their Family Favourites.  At 11:00am you can watch a movie for only $2.99!


Ontario Farmer’s Markets are still going strong and are bringing you the best and freshest produce around.  Support the Farmers of Ontario by shopping at your local farmer’s market this weekend!

Fall Festival @ Chappell Farms – Attractions include: Farmyard animals, hay maze, Corn Maze, Boo barn, Trike track, Sand Diggers, Play area, Pick your own pumpkin.  Added attractions on weekends include: Magic shows, Live entertainment, Jumping castle and a Haunted barn.


Pumpkinfest @Downey’s Farm – Fall fun at Downey’s includes Unlimited Wagon Rides, Live Entertainment, Super-Cat-Super-Curve, Dump Truck Slide, Balloon Typhoon, Trike Track, Face Painting, Straw Jump, Farm Animals, Super Corn Maze and the The Black Hole.  You will not want to miss the fun!

Model Railroad Show – Fun for all ages, this show has 33,000 square feet of model trains, Operating layouts in many different scales, Thomas play area for the kids, Vendors selling all kinds of new and used model trains and railroad memorabilia and Great Food service.


Richardson’s Farm & Market – Oodles of fun awaits you at the farm this fall.  Explore the 6 km of trail in our 7 acre corn maze, challenge yourself to figure out the  Jammed Tractor mini maze, cats cradle maze and pathway puzzle maze and play in the strawbale maze.  Lasso some toy horses, play in the corn box, enjoy a tractor ride, visit the animals and chuck some pumpkins at targets.  Of course before you leave, don’t forget to get a pumpkin!


Strom’s Farm – Have some fun times at Strom’s Farm in their Harvest Fun area including; Jumpin Jack Tile Maze, Rope Maze, Straw Maze, Pumpkin Chuckin, Wagon Rides, 6 acre Corn Maze (4 miles of paths), Sand Pit, Pedal Carts ,Cedar Spiral and a Pumpkin of a Show Puppet Show.


Colourfest – Live entertainment, petting zoo, inflatables, Colourfest pet contest, corn roast and lots of entertainment.


Fall into Nature – Spectacular scenery, fall colours, and an array of activities at Fall into Nature.  Fall into Nature takes place over (October 3-4) and the following weekend (October 10-12). Festival events run at all seven of Conservation Halton’s main parks: Crawford Lake, Rattlesnake Point, Hilton Falls, Kelso/Glen Eden, Mountsberg, Mount Nemo, and Robert Edmondson.


Fall Fair – Experience Canada’s Largest 4-day Agricultural Fair. Fun for the whole family!  There will be  great food, amazing entertainment, Midway, exhibits, vendors, contest and demonstrations.


Scarecrow Invasion – The “Invasion of Scarecrows” begins in mid September through to mid October. More than 250 scarecrows will be found in the downtown area alone – dangling sassily from downtown lamp posts, hiding in bushes and trees, lounging happily on benches, peeking out from behind cornstalks and resting comfortably on porches and verandahs. They frolic everywhere! The main street (Sykes St.), and harbour area, are particularly alive with scarecrows during this time.


Fall Fair – There’s something for everyone at the annual Metcalfe Fair – the last Ottawa Valley Fair of the season! Traditional favourites include Livestock and Horse Shows; 4-H Regional Championship Show; Agricultural Education; Demolition Derby; Stepdancing and Fiddling Competitions; Homecraft Exhibits; Field Crops and Produce Exhibits; Antique Machinery Display; Horse Pull; Antique Tractor Demonstration Pull; Entertainment Centre; Kidzland; Robertson Amusements Midway.


Pumpkin Inferno – Weekends through October. Come and stroll through a hauntingly beautiful and spellbinding outdoor exhibit of now close to 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins, set against a stirring night-time backdrop just inside the gates of historic Upper Canada Village. Marvel at this eclectic display of scenes from exotic places and historic ages, meet up with forest animals and sea-born creatures, see story book heroes, mythical characters, cultural icons and more …. all carved from pumpkins!

Port Elgin

Great Lakes Farm – The apple barn is open daily for already picked apples, fresh apple cider, our famous apple pies and other apple-based sweets, treats and delicacies fresh from our bakery. You can also. Pick your own apples, pears and pumpkins, explore our corn maze and straw mountain or take a ride around our orchard with a Tractor ride.

Sturgeon Falls

Cranberry Festival – Sturgeon River House in Sturgeon Falls is holding its annual Cranberry Festival with face painting, craft tables, antique car displays, live entertainment, pancakes with cranberry sauce and walking tours through the bog where people can pick cranberries.
