Around Town This Weekend…

Ancaster

Ancaster Fair – Fair fun includes: Dairy shows, sheep shearing, live entertainment, spelling bee, fun fair, midway, demolition derby, exhibits, horse shows, 4-H, homecrafts, baby show and more.

Bolton

Bolton Fall Fair – It all kicks off with Twoonie night on the Midway Thursday night.  The rest of the weekend is packed full with demolition derby, entertainment, food, exhibits, car show, animal shows, tractor pull and more.

Collingwood

Great Northern Exhibition – The list of fun is extensive for this weekend, including: Food, animals,  rides, entertainment, smash up derby, games, educational stuff, children’s tent, arts and crafts and the list goes on…

Drumbo

Fall Fair – The 2013 Theme: “Drumbo Fair – Udderly Amazing!”  Have fun all weekend long with children’s village, midway, horse show, beef show, food vendors, classic car show, exhibits and more.

Forest

Fall Fair – Fun for the whole family will be had at the fair this weekend with an ATV, Miniature Horse Show,  midway, Parade, Dairy Show, Light Horse Show,  Children’s Entertainment , Heavy Horse and Beef Show, Barrel Racing and Demolition Derby.

Grand Valley

Haliburton Highlands

Hike Haliburton Festival – Hikes on public and private land trails led by knowledgeable and engaging guides.  There are new hikes & festival favourites that explore the natural & cultural heritage of the Haliburton Highlands.  There are contests with great prize and great places to stay and eat all while you enjoy the amazing fall colours.

Hillsburgh

Carrot Fest – Join us as we celebrate Everdale’s 15th anniversary growing farmers, food and community.  Enjoy the music of The Funky Mamas, visit with the animals, take a tour of the farm, pick your own carrots, have fun with the  kids activities and harvest games, enjoy some delicious food and of course there will be the World’s largest carrot cake.

Huntsville

Fall Fair – Annual Fall Fair with horse pulls and rides to please all. The fair has been a favourite with families and people just getting in touch with the agricultural side of Muskoka.

 

Lindsay

Lindsay Exhibition (LEX) – The theme of the 2013 LEX is ” FARMERS FEED YOU.  The LEX is 5 day fall fair and exhibition full of entertainment, concerts, midway rides, demolition derby, truck & tract pull, and agricultural competitions and displays.

Morrisburg

Fall Fair @ Upper Canada Village – Come out for the annual reenactment of a traditional 1860 fair complete with livestock,  best of things made and grown at Upper Canada Village, gricultural and dairy products, vegetables, flowers, handiwork and fine art .

Newmarket

Buskerfestival – Outdoor buskers and stage performers including juggling, magic, puppetry, music, comedy, theatre, face painting, balloon twists, caricatures, clowning, dance, music and circus stunts. Free admission.

Ottawa

Richmond Fair –  The Fair promotes agricultural awareness within the City of Ottawa, a city with the largest agricultural land base and agricultural economy in Canada.  In addition there will be a demolition derby, live music shows, aerial shows, rock climbing, reptile shows, BMX bike shows, etc. provide a vast array of entertaining events for the whole family.

International Animation Festival – The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is the largest event of its kind in North America, a major film event attracting attendees from around the world. Film buffs, art lovers and cartoon fans won’t want to miss this year’s great line up of screenings.

Parkhill

Fall Fair – Our theme this year is Magic, Memories and Music. We hope to provide you with lots of music, magic shows and new this year a Classic Car show and activities to give you a walk down memory lane. Gable Bros Amusements will be our midway provider and of course the weekend will conclude Sunday with the most popular derby around Middlesex County!

Port Elgin

Wild for the Arts Festival – Join us for this fun weekend and prepare to be inspired by nature!  Free family fun, writing and art inspired by nature. Campground studio tour and sale, unique canvas, children’s art and writing activities and campfire, along with musical interludes in the woods

Richmond Hill

Family Fair @ Crosby Park – Crosby Park Family Fair entertains families of all ages in a carnival type setting, including your favourite cartoon characters, inflatables, children’s entertainers and much more.

St George

Applefest – There’s something “a-peeling” for everyone at Applefest.  A fantastic festival highlighting apples, pies, crafts, artisans, live entertainment, kids’ rides and much more.

Stratford

Fall Fair – The Stratford Fall Fair has a super fun weekend planned with exhibits, midway, 4-H show, Battle of the bands, shows, contests and entertainment.

Thornhill

Village Festival – Held on the streets of historic Thornhill, the festival will include a Parade, 130 booths, a variety of food, beer garden, great music, rides and events for kids and teens, Battle re-enactments and More!

Toronto

Pioneer Harvest Festival @ Black Creek Pioneer Village – This Mennonite and Pennsylvia-German festival is full of delicious foods such as home made pies, cheese curds, sausages, apple butter, hand-made ice cream and more.  Don’t miss the fast-paced, one of a kind quilt auction!  There will also be wagon rides, kid’s activities, music and livestock programs.

Windfest – Kites, kites and more kites.  Windfest is Toronto’s largest kite festival. From expert kite fliers, to kids flying their first kite, there is a space for everyone at WindFest. Kite flying is a fun, safe, creative and multi-cultural activity that anyone can enjoy! We’ll have workshops on how to make kites, and how to fly kites too!

Sweets & Treats Festival @ Sugar Beach – Taste some of Toronto’s best sweets, from the food trucks and vendors as well as other delectable treats. There will also be a beer and wine garden and buskers performing throughout the day. This all-ages event features tons of activities for the kids. To add to the excitement there will be a midway of rides and inflatables.

The Grapevine Festival – There will be various shows and programs for both kids and adults, some of the activities are: Unique foods that feature the flavours of the neighbourhood, wine and cheese tasting, live entertainment, children’s rides, activities and inflatables.

Word on the Street – Canada’s Largest One-Day Book and Magazine Festival And it’s FREE!  There will be lots of family-fun activities at the festival. KidStreet is a special area of the park devoted to families, and offers exciting children’s programming all day in the TVO Kids Stage, the TD Children’s Literature Tent and the Children’s Activity Tent.

Waterloo

  1. Love Great Lakes Farms – we had so much fun picking apples. The cafe was wonderful and the kids had a blast in the play area!
    Looking forward to exploring more Ontario farms. Some great ideas here :)
